Georgia Food Tour 2018

Georgia Food is worth traveling for. Seriously! Over a period of 5 days (besides the airport food) almost every meal I consumed tasted like it was made with love and time. Although I had a lot of great food, I know I have barely scratched the surface of all the great Georgia food available. Nonetheless, I think you will agree I had a very blessed week based on the following pictures! I know I will be back (very soon) for some great Georgia food. Scroll down to see my top recommendations based on my first hand experiences. I would love if you could leave a comment below with your favorite dish and/or some Georgia food recommendations of your own. Enjoy!

TWO URBAN LICKS

(Poncey-Highland)

820 Ralph McGill Blvd NE
Atlanta, GA 30306

When you walk into Two Urban Licks, you know you’re about to enjoy something special. There is just something about this place that screams…..“hipster-elegance?” That’s the best way I can describe it. The food tasted even better than it looked, which was already Insta-worthy. Two Urban Licks is definitely considered a “hotspot” so you’ll want to make your reservations far in advance. The night we went, they even had live music!

Salmon Chips: Smoked Salmon, Chipotle Cream Cheese, Capers, Red Onion (From 2 different angles, one without onions)

Baked Oysters: Leeks, Dill, Bacon, Grana Padano Cheese

Brisket: Smoked, Esquites Style Corn

Bourbon Pecan Tart: Malted Vanilla Ice Cream, Cranberry Wine Gelee

POKE BURRI & LIFTING NOODLES RAMEN

(East Atlanta Village)

477 Flat Shoals Ave SE
Atlanta, GA 30316

The building is labeled Suki Suki, and it is a collection of little restaurants that likely operate as a collective. You’ll want to check the website before you come here to make sure your restaurant of choice is open, because they operate on a revolving schedule. This is a great place to bring a group, because everyone is likely to find something tasty here. As of this posting, this location offers Mediterranean, Tacos, Ramen, Sushi, Moroccan, and Vietnamese Cuisine. In the parking lot across the street, you’ll also notice the beautiful graffiti. Here are the artists’ links for more info: Image 1, Image 2.

The Olde Pink House

(Historic Savannah)

23 Abercorn St, Savannah, GA 31401

Have you ever wanted to eat a fancy meal in a colonial mansion? The Olde Pink House will make your dreams come true. This restaurant was truly steeped in history and Southern charm. It took me at least 20 minutes to decide what I wanted to order, because everything looked so delicious! You ever go to an high-end restaurant, and everything is: 1. expensive, 2. small portioned, and 3. overrated? This is NOT one of those places. Although it is on the pricey side, I believe the prices are justified. You will definitely walk away satisfied. Because of the healthy portion sizes, none of us finished our food, and we all needed take-home boxes. I cannot wait to come back!

Before we left Savannah, we stopped in here hoping for a good, Southern breakfast…and we were not disappointed! I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for high-quality food and large portions. Our server was so friendly and inviting. It almost felt like we were dining in a good friend’s house. Two Cracked Eggs is located along the banks of the Savannah Riverfront if you enjoy a view with your meal.
