My First Interview!

Hi everyone!

I hope this message finds you well. I’m currently in the blazing Palm Springs sun getting ready to move! In the middle of packing and planning, I wanted to check in and share something special that just happened.

I just had my first interview as a blogger! I guess this means I’m legit right? Ah, at least I hope so.

I had the pleasure of answering some important questions regarding solo female travel that you can view below:

SOLO FEMALE TRAVEL INTERVIEW

I started Escape Around The World in January of this year with no real goal or vision. I was not sure how I wanted to shape this website. What direction should I take it in? What would be my niche? What would be my writing “voice?”

I have not completely answered this question, but I have learned what I like and don’t like so far. I do like writing in depth articles which describe my experiences and feelings while traveling so that the reader leaves feeling more prepared and informed than before they found my website. I found that I do not particularly enjoy writing articles in a negative tone. I am used to doing that on Yelp and things of that nature when I get frustrated with a business. But I do not wish to put a place out of business with my writing just because I happened to have a bad experience one time. It could have be an anomaly. People aren’t perfect. Things like that. With Escape Around The World, I started with some articles about food places, and not everything I wrote was kind. After some reflection, I decided that I wanted my website to have a more positive tone. This is not to say that I will pretend to like a location, dish, destination, etc. It just means I will continue to focus the majority of my writing on the positive. I will still give my best, unbiased advice in all cases.

Basically, you can expect honesty from me. That’s what I want my readers to walk away with at the very least!

There are many places I would like to go in the near future so that I can put together some more quality and informative articles for you all. These include Atlanta, Mexico, United Kingdom, San Francisco, Catalina Island, Japan, and a whole lot more. I am currently in the fundraising stage for those destinations. In my off-season (aka when I’m not traveling very far for a moment) my articles will focus on local destinations. My idea of local is of course Southern California and Las Vegas if you have been noticing.

Signing off for now! Have a great week 🙂

I would love to hear from you! Where you you like to see me go next? What do you like (or not like) about my blog? Have any tips? Comment below! 🙂
